Enrollment import with validation
Import an enrollment spreadsheet and get a staged review — new students, changed records, duplicate student numbers, and missing information are flagged for admin review instead of accepted automatically.
One centralized student record
A single, permanent record per student: ID number, name, grade, enrollment status, guardians, Microsoft 365 account, classes, and import history — all in one place.
Reliable student ID management
Student numbers are checked for duplicates during import, so the ID that eventually connects to payments, classes, devices, and other systems stays trustworthy from day one.
Connected family relationships
Students and guardians are linked, not duplicated. A parent with three enrolled children is one parent record connected to all three students.
Automatic Microsoft 365 provisioning
Student and staff accounts are created automatically using the school's naming convention, with duplicate and name-collision checks and provisioning status tracked on the record.
Works alongside Microsoft Teams
mini-SIS Hub manages who students, teachers, and classes are. Teams manages the classroom experience — with optional support for Microsoft School Data Sync to keep both in step.

Exception-driven administration
Instead of hunting for problems, admins see the specific issues that need attention: failed account provisioning, duplicate student numbers, missing guardian info, a class with no teacher, or a class not connected to Teams.
mini-SIS Hub also protects against dangerous automation. If a student disappears from the latest enrollment file, the system flags it for review rather than automatically deleting the student or disabling their account — so an incomplete import can never make an irreversible decision on its own.

mini-SIS Hub is built on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Teams, School Data Sync, and Microsoft 365 Education — with Power Platform used where it makes sense. That means no new tech ecosystem for staff to learn on top of the Microsoft 365 environment most schools already run.

What It's Not (Yet)
Intentionally not a full enterprise SIS — on purpose.
mini-SIS Hub does not currently attempt state reporting, complex course scheduling, transcripts, GPA calculation, a full gradebook, advanced attendance, special-ed case management, health records, or large-district compliance workflows.
It grows with the school instead: start with students, guardians, staff, and Microsoft 365 accounts; add classes and Teams sync; later add or integrate attendance, enrollment forms, SchoolBanks financial operations, parent services, and other modules. Schools that eventually outgrow this scope can move to a larger SIS.
