SchoolBanks brings K-12 fees, payments, and operational accountability together in one clear, governed, audit-ready system.

A SchoolBanks Product

The essential student information system for growing private schools.

SchoolBanks mini-SIS Hub gives early-stage and growing private schools one trusted student record, connected family relationships, and enrollment-driven Microsoft 365 account provisioning — at a fraction of the cost and complexity of a full enterprise SIS.

The Problem

Same operational needs as a large district. Not the same budget or admin team.

Early-stage private schools still need to give every student a unique ID, connect families to the right students, create staff and student accounts, organize classes, and keep enrollment accurate. Leaders still need to know who's enrolled, who has access, and what needs attention.

Traditional SIS platforms are built for much larger institutions. mini-SIS Hub is right-sized for smaller schools: quick to launch, easy to learn, and focused on the features you use.

mini-SIS Hub is designed for the stage before all of that: the essential student-information capabilities a growing school actually needs, without a full-scale SIS.

What It Manages

One place for the people, records, and access every school has to track.

  • Students & student ID numbers
  • Parents & guardians
  • Student-to-guardian relationships
  • Staff
  • Enrollment status & academic years
  • Classes & class rosters
  • Student & staff Microsoft 365 accounts
  • Microsoft Teams classroom relationships
  • Enrollment imports
  • Data-quality issues
  • Operational exceptions

Key Capabilities

Automate routine work. Surface what needs attention.

Enrollment import with validation

Import an enrollment spreadsheet and get a staged review — new students, changed records, duplicate student numbers, and missing information are flagged for admin review before anything is accepted.

One centralized student record

A single, permanent record per student: ID number, name, grade, enrollment status, guardians, Microsoft 365 account, classes, and import history — all in one place.

Reliable student ID management

Student numbers are checked for duplicates during import, so the ID that eventually connects to payments, classes, devices, and other systems stays trustworthy from day one.

Connected family relationships

Students and guardians are linked, not duplicated. A parent with three enrolled children is one parent record connected to all three students.

Automatic Microsoft 365 provisioning

Student and staff accounts are created automatically using the school's naming convention, with duplicate and name-collision checks and provisioning status tracked on the record.

Works alongside Microsoft Teams

mini-SIS Hub manages who students, teachers, and classes are. Teams manages the classroom experience — with optional support for Microsoft School Data Sync to keep both in step.

How Admins Use It

An operational dashboard that shows what matters.

Dashboard homepage

See active students, active staff, active classes, Microsoft 365 accounts provisioned vs. awaiting, and the latest import results at a glance — for example, "265 enrollment records received, 251 ready, 12 warnings, 2 records requiring correction."

Exception-driven administration

Admins see the specific items that need attention right away: failed account provisioning, duplicate student numbers, missing guardian info, a class with no teacher, or a class not connected to Teams.

mini-SIS Hub also protects against dangerous automation. If a student disappears from the latest enrollment file, the system flags it for review rather than automatically deleting the student or disabling their account — so an incomplete import can never make an irreversible decision on its own.

Built On What Schools Already Own

Runs on Microsoft technology your school likely already licenses.

mini-SIS Hub is built on SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Teams, School Data Sync, and Microsoft 365 Education — with Power Platform used where it makes sense. That means no new tech ecosystem for staff to learn on top of the Microsoft 365 environment most schools already run.

Before & After

The right-sized step between spreadsheets and an enterprise SIS.

  • Enrollment data in many places → one trusted student record
  • Manually creating every student account → enrollment-driven account provisioning
  • Parents re-entered for every child → connected family relationships
  • Someone remembering which student needs attention → an operational dashboard that identifies exceptions
  • Maintaining students in multiple systems → one student identity that flows into Microsoft 365, Teams, and SchoolBanks
  • Buying technology built for a much larger school → deploying the technology appropriate for your school today

What It's Not (Yet)

Intentionally focused — built for growing schools.

mini-SIS Hub does not currently attempt state reporting, complex course scheduling, transcripts, GPA calculation, a full gradebook, advanced attendance, special-ed case management, health records, or large-district compliance workflows.

It grows with the school instead: start with students, guardians, staff, and Microsoft 365 accounts; add classes and Teams sync; later add or integrate attendance, enrollment forms, SchoolBanks financial operations, parent services, and other modules. Schools that eventually outgrow this scope can move to a larger SIS.

Who It's For

Built for schools before they're ready for a traditional SIS.

  • New private schools
  • Growing independent schools
  • Microschools & small academies
  • Faith-based schools
  • Specialized & alternative education programs
  • Schools ready to move beyond spreadsheet-based administration
  • Microsoft 365 Education schools without a formal SIS

The essential SIS for growing schools

Enterprise-quality essentials at a school-friendly price.

Start with what your school needs. Automate routine work. Identify what requires attention. Add complexity only when your school actually needs it.
